Yes, I believe this is one of the first appearances from Aesop Rock, and that is due to the fact that The Controls are produced by Dub-L producer also produced Ace Rock's early material along with blockhead, explains the collab. This is sick even with out Aesop being on it, while vocalist Ann Colville is hunting and under-rated Dj Js-One provides the cuts this album is A must listen almost 10 years old !

I checked this out for the track featuring Shad K after Esperanza adviced it, which is by far the best track on the album. But the rest of the tracks are pretty good as well. Recommended if you are into mellow soulful music with a female vocalist.

I was checking some old back ups and stumbled upon a folder called 'Old School'. Not gonna lie, I'm not some 40 year old boom bap head, so this folder is like a random collection of my introduction to old school hip hop 'back then'.
Some great tracks, some crap, some that shouldn't belong in the folder due to my unorganized messy character (Fort Minor? Aloe Blacc? Jem? Ehh..?) and some I don't even remember now.

So this is just a very random collection of tracks coming from my pre-blogosphere 'i only download seperate tracks' era. Those good ol' days of this sound, playing floppy disk games, waiting for ages on Bearshare and end up downloading shady .exe files instead of the music you meant to download.

Please let me know if you like it because the folder with only seperate tracks is four times as big and this is the least good selection (01-05)!

Sup MS, Halftime is back!! Hope you haven't missed me too much. Its been awhile but happy to see MS is still up and still a growing community. Im gonna try to post a few gems a couple times a week. For those who don't know my taste of music i have plenty of comps on the blog and try to put these together so you can get an idea of what i dig in music, hopefully you guys dig em... Lets hope 2011 has some dope releases, and im still gonna hit you with that older hip-hop ish. I am a dj (dj shift) who still spins vinyl (sometimes serato) I also lay down cuts for (local philadelphia) hip-hop artists Citizen Xavier, Ill at Ease and Profess. I dabble in production and sampling, but mostly keep my ear to the streets (and the net.) I try to spread music around for you and yours, and feedback is appreciated.

The Day I Fell Off is a personal favorite from a 7" from Them Thats Not, that never got on "the best part" Lp. Not the cover to the album, because its a collection of 80mins of J-Live 12" and appearances & features on random albums. That is the album cover for the ep, that came out prier to "the best part". Later this ep will be release as "alway has been" ep, but TDIFO, didnt appear on it. Every Track is dope, just the best of the best of non Lp J tracks. "Break It Down" demo?, i not sure but far better than the version that appeared on Jazzy Jeffs the manificent from a white label i copped back in the early 00's. Mad dj's cutting it up at the end of the track demonstrating the various stabs, flares, chrips, skribbles and like 10 other types of sratches. The brady bunch sample at the begining, sick.
