Public Service Announcement

I don't think lots of you know what it is, but the next four days it's carnaval over here! It's like, the Dutch Mardi Gras.

jamsessie los onder de naam All Star Jam. Rijmelaars, trommelaars,
toeteraars, pingelaars en draaitafelaars uit de Utrechtse scene
zullen gedurende deze sessie de muzikale kruisbestuiving vertolken waar
de Domstad om bekend staat.

Naast het feit dat je als bezoeker een unieke show voor je kiezen
krijgt, support je ook de Utrechtse acts Arts The Beatdoctor en In
Stereo. Deze acts zijn namelijk gevraagd om voor het Amerikaanse label
Beats Broke te spelen tijdens het fameuze 5-daagse SXSW festival in
Austin, Texas. Ieder jaar krijgen slechts een beperkt aantal acts vanuit
de hele wereld de kans om hun muziek live ten gehore te brengen op het
grootste en belangrijkste muziekfestival op deze aardbol.

Het idee van de All Star Jam ontstond toen gesproken werd om, naast de
shows op SXSW, een Amerikaanse tour voor Arts en In Stereo op te
zetten. Muzikanten uit de Utrechtse scene bleken massaal bereid te
zijn om beide acts te supporten door acte de présence te geven op deze
unieke avond.

Elke muziekliefhebber en concertganger moet deze avond

The Indie-kid in me just had an orgasm. A 2CD-collection with tracks of amazing artists at The Books, The National, Sufjan Stevens, José Gonzalez, The Decemberists, Arcade Fire, Buck65, David Byrne and wayyyy more. Amazing collection with some new material of i.e. Sufjan Stevens. The new Sufjan song (which is a cover) might be slightly dissappointing, but the overall collection is great!
