I feel like the hype is kinda over, but James Blake's music is still amazing if you ask me (of course). I found a collection on some warez-site, added it with everything I had already and (with some help of our active forum) filled that with some missing songs and that results in this collection. According to Discogs, I think this covers basically everything he has released (minus the album, which is posted on the blog before) to this day. One song, a few remixes and quite a few full 12"s/EPs.

After the random Jazzy Goats, MS-related compilations and Heaps Of Old School, I decided to make another compilation. A little more conceptual this time.

The past few months I had an internship in Amsterdam and somehow always when I wake up early, a song is stuck in my head. I don't listen to music consciously before I go to sleep or so, but there's an explanation for it. 'Earworms'.

After a variety of songs stuck in my head while waking up/travelling, I decided to write down the song if I had one stuck in my head in the morning. After basically two weeks, that results in this shortlist of 15 songs!

Most of them got stuck in my head because of one sentence that was on repeat in my head ('it can be a problem', 'drop your gloves OJ', What's your name? JD//What's the name of your crew? It's SV), others just because they are catchy and others because they are great songs in general. And one exception (the last one) because it's fucking annoying...

With that said, hopefully you enjoy this playlist of my unsubconscious mind. Let me know what you think!

You might remember Kyteman of his project Kyteman's Hip Hop Orchestra (if not, you should!). After a big success in the Netherlands he took a long hiatus, but now he's back with this Kytecrash project. He merged together with the Gatecrash collective of well-respected trumpettist Eric Vloeimans (Kyteman is a trumpettist too) to do a few sessions in his 'Kytopia' building (dude invested all money he earned with his music into a big ass studio/meeting place/record studio/performance place). Everything's recorded in just a few days. Nothing prepared, one take, press record and that's it.

Unlike his previous project (people not familiar, check this, best song of 2009 hands down) that was more hip hop influenced, this is almost strictly Jazz. Although rapper Pax is featured on a few songs.
