Letter To The RIAA

Dear RIAA,

Because I adore your work and effort of your company so much, I want to share something with you. I found this today and the first thing I thought was: 'Oh, I really have to send it over to my friends at the RIAA!'

It's an investigation about illegal downloads, which you can read HERE in Dutch. The investigation is done by TNO, a well-respected and objective company, so their results are very trustable. Because you can't read Dutch, I will give you their main conclusions:

- File sharing has a positive effect on the Dutch prosperity
- People get educated by file sharing and it opens a door to a world of a lot of cultural things
- An illegal download doesn't mean it's bad. If someone has to pay for it, they wouldn't download it at all...
- People who share files online, buy more albums than people who don't download music
- They also go to more concerts and buy more merch
- The decrease of sales of music and devices doesn't mean that it's because of file sharing. The sales were insanely high, so it's common sense that it will decrease.

Interesting, huh? Wait, another conclusion for you: please stop trying to fight file-sharing and leave us bloggers alone.

The version I ripped contains 19 tracks, because it has some skits on it which the American version doesn't have. But I would say; the more, the better :)

WOW!! LUPE FIASCO!

I'm sure most of you heard about Lupe Fiasco retiring from hip hop after the release of his upcoming album LupEND. I was pretty upset by this because I have become a pretty big fan of his music. BUT today I got wind of this new side project he is doing called Japanese Cartoon, a post progressive indie rock type sound and it is RIDICULOUS. He is going by the name Percival Fats and using a british accent in all of the singles and Fiasco avidly denies that it is him in this project most likely because he wants to keep it under wraps until hes ready to release some polished material but a track or two has leaked already and I must say that I am really digging this. What do you think?

The bad news: I gave up the section named 'Eclectic...'
The good news: I'm going to post more eclectic stuff in general on the blog! So apart from Jazzy Hip Hop, also expect some more Indie, Jazz, Funk, Soul and everything in between.

This is one of my favourite albums if it comes to Indie-music. Just 'feel-good-music', great to play when you're happy or when you need an energy-boost. It is kinda poppy, but I like it a lot. If you're a fan of Indie/Rock-music then definitely check this one out!
