Short Bio...

Vincent “DJ Spinna” Williams is something of an anomaly in music. A humbling example of what it takes to truly succeed within the framework of multiple fields. A steadfast work ethic, an obsessively extensive vinyl library and the willingness to pursue the full extents of his roots (Funk, Soul and Jazz), foundation (Hip-Hop) and future (Electronic/Dance music) with no restraints.A cornerstone of Hip-Hop’s late 90’s indie-uprise, DJ Spinna made much of his first impression on listeners as the musical background of his group The Jigmastas (having released an impressive slew of 12” singles on his then self-run label Beyond Real during this time) as well as providing the canvas for an array of that era’s lyrical giants. As an emcee in New York City, if you didn’t have a Spinna production under your belt, well, you just hadn’t accomplished all there was to accomplish. Everyone from Mos Def, Talib Kweli to Pharaohe Monch boasted Spinna beats to prove their worth to the scene. At the height of indie-kingpin Rawkus Records heyday, Spinna was in demand, also churning out timeless classics of the era from the likes of J-Live, Mr. Complex and The Polyrhythm Addicts (his all-too-brief collabo-group with Apani B., Shaabam Sadeeq and Complex).

R.I.P. Laptop
Alright, time for some bad news. Yesterday my laptop died, which means the next week(s) I won't be online that much. And with more bad luck I lost a lot of music. The whole hard disc was basically full with music/files and I was planning to make a backup, but now that's too late... Hopefully my hard disc can be saved, or else I lost all music I collected the past year...

So just a heads up so you know I might be a little bit late with replying, posting and updating everything.

M-Flo's fourth album and the second in the "M-Flo Loves..." collaboration series. Each track with a feature on it can be read as "M-Flo Loves [insert feature here]/[insert track title here]". The cool thing about this album is that it's kind of bilingual. On alot of the tracks M-Flo's emcee Verbal (and the guest on some tracks) change from English to Japanese raps back and forth. It's mostly upbeat and feel good music as it is a pop album, among other things (It reached #1 on Oricon...Japan's pop charts.).

After the Pete Philly EP I made a loooong while ago, I figured out to do another one with some 'exclusive' stuff. This time of Kyteman, the genuis producer/trumpetist from Holland.

He released The Hermit Sessions earlier this year, which is definitely a top 5 release of this year, no doubt! I really insist to support him and check out his music (Live DVD coming later this month), but here's a bootleg made by yours truly with some live tracks.

They're all 128kbps or better, but they sound really good. So no crappy recordings! The first track appeared on his official album, Freestyle Jam and Pitchblack Darkness appeared on his Sorry EP and Live @ Lowlands is an exclusive recording, almost an hour long (in good quality). Enjoy!
