Homeliss Derilex are one of my favorite Hip-hop groups of the 90's. HD's are the true definition of the (underground) Jazzy-Hip-Hop with a Westcoast laidback sound. Starting the the early 90's featuring MC 50 Grand (aka Grand the Visitor) with beats by The Architect. The group hails from San Francisco and were doing their thing, when Peanut butter Wolf picked them up as one of the first press 12" vinyl of the young stones throw catalog (cash money 12"). The Architect is now pretty well known, he has worked with Rubix, Planet Asia and many other west coast groups. He has put out a couple of dope instrumental lp as well.In 2003 stones throw re-released the rare HD's ep "Fraudulent" (only on wax) Original released around 94. In 2005 the group would release "Fraudulent the album" with 8 addition tracks to make it a full album. The lp version did feature 2 tracks that were left off the cd release and they are contained in this The B-Sides collection, included is the Cash Money 12" with two additional remixes of the song. The song max mode (prod PBW) was a classic sleeper that was released as a solo 50 grand track (amazing vinyl only track). If you dont know who these guys are I would definitly look out from anything produced by the Architect, and the Grand Visitor is about to release his first solo album. As far as the other HD albums they have put out 2 lp recently which are "Raise it Up" and "HD's Vs. The Sp-1200" both dope as hell. I have put a coulpe of tracks on the halftime series, so if you liked what you heard, dont miss the rest of thier discog, also I am missing a few b-side/12" from Grand's solo 12" so let me know what im missing.

Shout outs to One Sun Sampler Book for the find and the preview

Here's an instrumental Dilla tribute mix over an hour long. According to One Sun Sampler Book, it's not a mix of actual Dilla songs, but a mix of original songs with elements of Dilla's music. I'm not too sure about that though, seeing as J Dilla's "Won't Do" instrumental starts playing about 14 minutes and 17 seconds into the mix. Most likely...Dilla fas will recognize some beats, but ultimately they'll find some new ones as well.
