All I have to say is I prefer "pre-Fergie" Black Eyed Peas than to today's. I've heard many people say that these 3 dudes sound similar to Tribe Called Quest, but I don't think we can compare Black Eyed Peas to ATCQ. They both have their own unique styles, but I'm just puttin that out there. Give it a listen though!

I already got this cd, and I have to affirm that BEP was far better without Fergie than now! I don't like this Pop-Style, mixed with Hip-Hop they have now, and Fergie playing the sexy babe of the group...

I tend to agree that no comparisons can be made between BEP & ATCQ, for exactly the reason/s you diagnose.
As to whether I prefer a pre-Fergie BEP or post-Fergie BEP the answer is yes.... to both.... for exactly the reason/s you diagnosed....
