SP grew up in metro Detroit, and lived in mid-city Detroit for years... he's now living out in L.A. He not only sampled old Detroit records this solo release, but he also got some of the original Detroit funk/jazz musicians to play over the tracks (Lyman Woodard, Dennis Coffey, etc.). Why is it that Japan is the only place on this planet that ISN'T sleeping on the Starving Artists Crew and SP!??!??
